Icons

A CELEBRATION OF THE DIVINE FEMININE

I had never seen icons before, but when I did, I thought what an amazing idea – to put healing into a painting, and by the way, no, I am not a religous person.  So I started painting them for individual people – I mean with them in mind and ended up with ten!  If anyone is interested in commissioning one for themselves then let me know.

Icons were introduced in 300 ad in Byzanteum (Turkey).  Constantine the Emperor of Rome, adopted Christianity, but also held Pagan beliefs.  He declared Byzanteum the new Christian capitol .  Mary, it is said spent the last  years of her life in Ephesus (Turkey), and the first church dedicated to her was build there.

Icons are painted with love and prayers so that when they are looked upon you can connect to the healing qualities of that particular saint or master.  This exhibition focused on the many faces or aspects of Mary as the feminine master.  She represents love,  compassion, tenderness,  wisdom, intelligence,  patience, peace, safety and love within our parenting  decisions.

“Mary is the  compassionate one, and represents unconditional  love, a mothers love, she as a wise one is moving closer to you now.  As your hearts open and are filled with love and compassion, the web within your heart increases.  The feminine principle must come to the fore.  Not in a feminist way but to balance the masculine.  It is all about balance, men must find the sensitive within to keep the balance”

me and stuff

I played a song at music night last week, its called ‘Always forever’, and this chap said to me afterwards…’Thank you so much that was beautiful’ I was quite astounded and secretly very touched that he had said that… it was the first time anyone had done that!

I mean.. yes, people clap, but they don’t then offer what they thought of something.
Is it that stiff upper lip of the British that we don’t show our emotions, or that we guard them more? Why not say if you appreaciated something? anyway…I do appreaciate it!

Its strange isn’t it, other peoples perceptions of you, someone who I don’t know very well, said that they saw me as etherial and living in a bubble (in a nice way I might add) – Well I try to be etherial as I can while I’m cleaning the house, soap suds flying everywhere while I wash and scrub – collecting all the debris from a teenagers room along with streptacocoi breeding away – planting, watering, making new paths – why is there always so much to do? will I ever run out of things to do?

I have a painting to do in a month for a competition and I havn’t even bought the canvass yet, but I do have some ideas for it thank god! and I really want to get into the studio and record some more songs I have quite a few written that really need putting down, but then the hot weather arrives and I ‘m like….mmm studio….garden…studio….garden mmmm garden and then I’m doing all sorts of things again……!

Make hay while the sun shines! always put off today what you can do tomorrow….No I’m sure that is wrong! So….mmm I guess I’ll go and have something to eat now…. been cutting out bread for a few weeks well, and carbs, it does work and I do feel better for it, so mmmm bacon, tomatoe and an egg I think….yum

Eco houses – Forest gardens

Just got to see some very inspirational houses at

http://naturalhomes.org/ I’ve just become so into the eco thing, it just makes so much sense to our world, and most importently our selves! Yes, I want to live in a forest with a zero (what do they call it?) one of those houses that dosn’t need heating because its got all the heat from the sun that is then piped around. – What a brilliant idea! you would think it would catch on eh?

Trouble is I think, that most people who think outside of the box do not have proper jobs and loads of money – because usually they can see that money is a man made thing and it just enters you into the technocratic world and makes a slave of you before you realise.

I think that the idea of housing that dosn’t need money to run it, you can spend all your time growing your own food and collecting your own fuel (just for the spirit – there is nothing like a fire to feed the soul)

I moved to the countryside about five years ago, from the town and I noticed such an incredible difference to myself being connected spiritually – I truly did.  I suppose I just felt so much more alive and ’switched on’  I think that this is what nature does for us and the more time we spend amongst it the better!

How can we as spiritual beings gain anything from concrete? I think that towns are such bad places for people.  I now feel like going further out – though interestingly the concept seems to have turned around – I mean, before I thought where I was living now was way out in the countryside, but now I see and hear! that it is so populated with farmers, sheep walkers etc etc, that really there is no peace and quiet!  I would love to be in a deciduous forest garden with only wildlife (and my family of course!) to hear – I suppose to do that I need a considerable amount of land to protect the surroundings around my wonderful eco house!

Its interesting how some people think, wow! I wouldn’t want to be that far out! but I am an artist – I love nature – it is so inspiring to watch its own natural state.  I have commentaries with trees! and flowers and insects – dosn’t everyone do that? well, no apparantly they don’t! but I’m no stranger of being unique and I am proud to be like I am.

So – getting back to this artical I just read, if you buy a piece of land you will probably pay around £2,000 per acre.  If you have planning permission to build a house – that land will then be worth around £90,000! Come on think about this  – who is in control here – basically the planning people!

Why is there such a huge jump here? yes I agree you cannot build anything anywhere but all I want is a house that is earth friendly in a wood – So, it appears if I want this, then I have to go out and work in a town to get the money required to live in a forest – sorry does not make sense – thats where we have got to as humans?

Yes, I could build a house for £3,000 (yes only that!) and then apply for retrospective planning, but – I may not get it, they may tell me to pull the house down! I don’t think I could live under that sort of cloud, but people have done this and eventually got planning like the famous roundhouse in Wales.

This is our basic instinct, to provide shelter for our families, to keep warm,  tend to our land and grow our own vegetables and be spiritually happy.  Yes, I have been affected by the www.ringingcedars.com series of books – once again they just make so much sense of which we as humans don’t seem to.  Okay – thats enough of me rattling on! If anyone has a beautiful spiritual and special wood that needs someone to look after it – please let me know!

Fashionista?

I don’t know, I went to a great gig last night, brilliant band, had a bit of a dance YES! great fun.  But there were these three girlies who sat next to me – So I couldn’t help but overhear what they were talking about!  The conversation went as follows:

‘I think for next winter I shall go for the Edwardian look with a smart coat that is slashed with denim… so…(to other girlie) what did you think of how she got you to put together this outfit?’ (she had used her friends ’style guru’)

‘Oh I love it (jeans, white frilly shirt and waistcoat) but I’m really hot I think I’ll take the waistcoat off’

‘No you can’t do that because it will make the shirt look far too posh on its own’

Eventually, she takes the waistcoat off and of course everyone stares in disbelief at the posh shirt (just joking!)

‘I have got a camisole top on underneath the shirt, just going to the toilet’

‘Hey I’ve got an idea take the waistcoat with you and see what it looks like with the camisole top! I’ll come with you’

She re-enters 10 minutes later with the camisole top under the waistcoat and of course the whole room turns to look and applaudes her as she re-enters the room cause of course everyone notices! (just joking again)

What a shame for this brilliant band, who sounded ace last night! What a shame for us human beings that there are really people that think that what they wear is going to change anything around them.  What a shame for themselves who think that anyone is going to notice anyway ( I of course am only noting the strangeness of our human race) What a shame that they obviously didn’t have any other interests other than clothes and being a clothes horse.

Don’t get me wrong, I love clothes but we were at a gig – Its supposed to be about the band and their music! I despair I really do!

Theres nothing as strange as people is there?

Age what?

I’ve never believed in old age, or in fact middle age. This is not just because its convenient as one gets ‘older’, its just that its never made sense to me. Think about it, ‘time’ is a manmade thing, it is not relevant within the universe – therefore, I believe that ‘age’ is manmade too.

I have always known about how thought affects our body. I learnt, from a very sharp lesson that nearly killed me, but, thankfully, that is when I changed my ‘thought’. It’s a long story! But, suffice to say, I now know, very well what negative thinking can produce!

So…just bear with me and enter into the world of ‘what if’ for a moment. Would it be scary to think that you could live physically for a lot longer than you presently think? I believe that dis-ease is a man made. We have created it, we have messed around with the food chain adding this that and the other, putting additives into food that have not even been tested, or at this moment, are being tested on us! We stress ourselves out trying to achieve what everyone else is achieving, more money, more this more that!

Surely if we ate pure food grown on our own land, ‘the love we give is equal to the love we make’ – sorry, that song came to mind then…I think it is John Lennon who wrote those words and he was a great thinker. I am just nurturing some new plants, I am treating them like babies, because that is what they are to me – they are partly my co-creation just because I grew them from seed.

Take this a step further, I am at the moment conducting an experiment. Its an idea from The Ringing Cedars series of books by Vladimir Megre. In it, it is suggested to place the organic, (it has to be organic otherwise they are stored in rat poison for storage?!) seed into your mouth and place it under your tongue for about 9 minutes. But, listen to this, the seed is then getting information via your saliva about your physical condition and what your body is lacking!

Now, whether or not I am from another planet, (which I might be!) this makes so much perfect sense to me. You are then supposed to put it between the palms of your hands and then open your hands and show the seed to the planets – is this getting too ‘hippy’ for you yet? People have been planting ‘by the moon’ for generations, why? Because it works – when the moon is full – there is obviously more water in the plant at that point – think about it – we have become so lazy in just thinking common sense. We generally believe things nowadays just because everyone else does.

Back to the seed, plant it in a pot and spit the saliva into the hole, do not then water for three days. That plant will then, grow to produce fruit, mine is a tomato plant, apparantly it will cure you of any diseases because it will give you what you are lacking! Sounds like a tall story eh! I have no trouble in believing this, it makes perfect sense to me, though of course I am testing it to see what happens.

But…do you know what…have you got any better ideas? If you have then I would love to hear them. When you think of the money machine that pharmaceutical drugs produce, then, can you really be sure that this is not just another way for people to make money (another man made materialization!) If you think about it, any man made object or machine has just made us all into slaves – slaves to keep the machinery going. Why do I need to get into a car, drive to the supermarket, buy an apple with the money that I have made from working all week in a factory making cars, just to eat an apple? When I could simply go outside and pick one off my own tree? – I wouldn’t need a car would I? Doah! A simpson moment!

Another thing, here I am collecting and separating all the re-cycling that is then getting dumped at the same local tip in the same place? We never used to use all this packaging, why do we need it now? I’ll tell you why, to pay for all those workers who are producing it??? To give them all a job in this crazy world! And this makes sense??

You think I’m mad? I think we have completely lost it. I am contemplating a forest garden full of food, an eco house with no bills and a horse. Yes, I might have lost it as far as the technocratic world, but I know which I would prefer, and I will have time to spend deliberating, writing such nonsense as this, just thinking, thinking and co-creating my babies to help heal our earth. Just think we could wake up one morning in paradise!

Hey I’m new to this!

Isn’t it always the way? you just get used to one networking site and up comes another with all these things to learn again doah!
Well….my life at the moment…just finished the ringing cedars books – which are just fantastic, there is a un petition around to sign to get free land from the government to create your own domain for your family – YES! a forest garden – what a wonderful idea!
I’m in the middle of all sorts of music, my next album is to be called Celtic Isle and mirrors the beauty of them there hills.
My husband Jezz Woodroffe, is busy making some excellent resonator guitars – boy do they sound good and I am told that you can stand on one! not that I would want to!
So….the seeds are coming up and everything is pretty rosy in the garden – what a wonderful spring it is!
